I’m Emilie Beslon, I write, record podcasts, take photos, draw, make music… in short, I’m someone who loves taking on new challenges and learning new things! I’m the founder of Boost.ton.seo and co-founder of the expat women’s community: Les Indépendantes du Monde.

I’m 41 years old and the mum of 2 children born close together: Louis, 11, and Suzanne, 9. I’ve always felt the need to feel free, so I left the family home early and chased my dreams. It was at the age of 23 that I took my first real big trips: Costa Rica, Argentina, Kazakhstan, Réunion Island. A true awakening! I discovered a different kind of freedom and became hooked. Every penny I saved went towards travel.

Back then, I was a travelling merchandiser. Almost every day I was in a different town. I criss-crossed France in every direction. I loved it, but at some point I settled in Lille to build my own family nest.

Becoming a mum never stopped me from exploring the world, as a family, of course. I’m deeply convinced that travel will give my children values far beyond anything I could hope for.

Louis took his first trip to Mont-Saint-Michel, then Belgium, Prague, Dublin, London, the Netherlands, Albania… His sister came along and we continued exploring Europe as a family of four. We love slow travel. After spending a year living in Mauritius, our perception of travel changed even more. We love spending time in one place, meeting locals, no longer rushing to tick off tourist spots. Enjoying a place, its people, understanding the culture, that’s our way of travelling.

I’m Florianne Duluc. I love reading, writing and travelling! Something of a jack-of-all-trades, I enjoy tinkering and making beautiful little paper creations, and I always have a small notebook with me! I’ve also ventured into handmade crafts under the name L’Atelier Inattendu.

On the travel front, my parents introduced me to corners of France and Europe (team UK forever!!). I used my studies to broaden my horizons and discover China, Canada and the Netherlands (thank you Erasmus!). When the time came to settle down with my partner, we chose to make our home with our Belgian neighbours, an expatriation lasting 9 years!

Over there, two companions joined us on the adventure: Alexis, already 13, and Adrien, 11. Since 2017, we’ve been back “home” in Loire-Atlantique, France and travel is still very much a priority for us!

We actually travelled as a family for a whole year, in 2024–2025. We discovered three continents: Asia, Southeast Asia in particular, Oceania and South America. Plenty to feast our eyes on, learn from, strengthen our bonds and create a mountain of memories. I documented this journey on the podcast and on Instagram @nous.quatre.et.le.monde.

Our children have already been around the world, yet they continue to marvel at what surrounds them: a sunrise over misty countryside, an afternoon of kite-flying or shell-collecting at the beach… Life’s little pleasures, just as accessible close to home as at the other end of the world; whether in the comfort of your own house or with your whole life in a backpack. Travel is about getting away from it all, and that’s available everywhere!
